Our university achieved the number 1 spot in both the employment rate and 2nd maintained employment rate among 4-year women’s universities in the Seoul area.

Our university announced that it took the glory of the highest employment rate among 4-year women’s universities in the Seoul area by recording 63% employment rate in the “Employment Statistics on Higher Education Graduates (based on Dec. 31, 2017)” which was publicly announced by the Ministry of Education on Jan. 18 through the Higher Education in Korea (public notice of college information). In addition, by taking the number 1 spot also in the 2nd maintained employment rate, which investigates the status of continuous employment, our university has been evaluated to have succeeded in achieving both employment quantity and quality.

As the percentages per department were found to be 94.9% College of Pharmacy, 80.5% Department of Information Technology Engineering, 77.5% School of Communication & Media, 75.9% Department of Environmental Design, 75% Department of Consumer Economics, etc., all areas showed pretty even high employment rate with the pharmacy field showing the greatest strength, followed by representative departments of the newly established College of Engineering, traditional departments, which showed strength in production of journalists, and so on, and even in the field of liberal arts.  This result is all the more meaningful in light of the fact that it was achieved in times of overall fall of employment rate for young graduates of 4-year colleges, especially women’s colleges, following the extreme difficulties of employment leading up to now.

Our university picked the effects from participation in diverse employment programs and government projects as the secret behind the leading employment rate.

Since the appointment as the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s 2015 Career Development Center, our university’s Career Development has been implementing a one-stop employment service for our students and local young people. During the semester, great response is being received for not only the employment skill programs such as various employment programs and mock tests, but also employment preparation class, special lectures, etc. which provide connection with active alumni who have advanced into all areas of the society. In particular, during the breaks, intensive employment competency building education which span for more than a week are being implemented through NCS Job Competency School, Global Competency Building Program, and more. The expansion and reform of the organization since 2017 enabled systematic career search and employment preparation while operating the SNOWAY, a student career management system supporting development of student careers.
