Thanks to the high interest of students and job applicants in the cloud computing industry, which is evaluated as a futuristic industry expected to create high values, the event recorded more than 800 pre-registrations alone.

The expo consisted of the morning and afternoon sessions. A special lecture on the innovative practices of Amazon and AWS was held in the morning, and during the afternoon session, advices on competencies required in the IT field and vivid hands-on experiences were shared through a job talk show where actual hands-on workers in diverse areas of AWS spoke.

In particular, employment consulting booths per company conducted onsite employment consulting and job application guidance, which included job consulting and employment for AWS partner companies and startups, as well as providing guidance to 2019 internship for AWS. Our university’s Career Development Center and LinkedIn also provided support on cover letter editing and consulting.

Our university and AWS, which have continued close collaboration on cloud education and fostering of IT human resources, plan to boost the partnership to the next level through this event. Our university subscribed to the AWS Educate program that has been devised to raise cloud computing-related competencies for students and teaching staff in 2017. Starting from 2019, our university is supporting access to diverse cloud contents free of charge and direct experience of AWS services for our students by implementing an AWS cloud-based learning management system (LMS) for the first time among Korean universities. In addition, we are preparing the reorganization of educational curricula to enable competency building in cloud services and the overall IT industry fields for our students.
